Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a very creative bunch of kiddos in my class. They really love to draw and put their thoughts and ideas down with some color. This project is meant to give them some other materials to use rather than just crayons and map pencils.

The students have been begging for the chance to paint a bit and really get crafty with some projects.

These materials from the Arts and Crafts Supply Library will help with that as well as provide them with some more options to use and touch when doing science experiments. The different textures alone will help the students better understand some of the vocabulary used.

Students will utilize pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, and feathers to feel for the different textures. They will also measure and weigh the different items to determine which product will work best for each creation as part of their experiments.

Some of the materials, such as the Color Crazy Dots Markers will also be used for crafts that pair with some of our reading and activities for our social and emotional learning.
