My students need wire, tools, and beads to create sun catchers. The loom kits will help students discover the art of weaving and knitting. Students will also learn how to create mosaics.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students I work with in my school are eager to craft and use their imagination to create. Each time our craft club meets, students from varying grade levels collaborate, problem solves, and use their creativity to make crafts from traditional as well as recycled materials.
My students attend school in a low socioeconomic area, but they enjoy the hands-on experiences and the opportunity to be inventive in an unrestrictive environment.
Through our campus craft club, students will learn how to create mosaics, embroidery, weaving, glass painting, wire wrapping, knitting, and string art.
My Project
There's nothing better than good, old-fashion creativity! I chose craft supplies such as wire, mosaic tiles, and loom kits to expose my students to hobbies they may not otherwise have the opportunity to try. When we get together, students of different age groups come together to craft, build friendships, and use their imagination. With these supplies, my students will be able to knit their own scarves for next winter and hopefully, they will become passionate about a new hobby.
Craftiness is happiness!
Our students deserve a break from technology once in a while so that they can get back to basics, use their imagination, and create with their own hands.
