This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Last year I taught many of my students how to crochet (in addition to their biology studies) and they wanted to use their new found skills to give back. Together we crafted pins, headbands, keychains, bookmarks and more and sold them during lunch periods. We were able to raise almost $1200 which we split between Unicef and The Hance Family Foundation through which we sent funds to help Ukrainian relief efforts and provided self esteem workshops for at least 20 girls. This year we want to do even more and reach additional charities with your help. We need items like plastic crochet hooks, elasticity cord, acrylic yarn, and more to complete this service project.
