My Project
Have you ever received a handcrafted gift from someone? Didn't it make you feel wonderful?
We want to teach our students to be more selfless, kind, and caring towards others.
This project will allow our school to get a Glowforge Aura which is a cutting machine that will cut student creation out of materials like wood and acrylic.
Our goal is that students will design gifts for others in the community as a community service project. We plan to start small with making gifts for our school and home community. Once students have learned the basics of creating these layered projects we will then move to larger community projects. Our hope is to be good enough at using this amazing machine by the holiday season so that we can make and deliver holiday gifts for our local Senior Center.
Teaching students to be selfless and make things for others is great way to connect with our larger community. We can't wait for our students to feel the joy of giving to others. Learning to give to others is a lifelong skill that all students need to have experience with. With the funding of this project students will learn this and so much more.
