My Project
Our pre-K classroom is a vibrant community of young learners from diverse cultural backgrounds, including students of color, English Language Learners, and children with special needs. Every day, we strive to create a learning environment that celebrates inclusion, promotes racial justice, and empowers our students to express themselves.
Representation matters, and it’s essential that our students see themselves in the toys, activities, and learning materials we provide; our goal is to create an inclusive environment where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered, and these resources will allow us to bridge gaps in learning, help our students build confidence, and foster a classroom culture that values diversity and inclusion.
We are seeking sensory and craft materials, play figurines, construction paper, and Play-Doh to provide our students with opportunities to learn through play, explore their creativity, and see their unique identities reflected in the classroom; these resources will allow our students to develop critical skills while embracing their multicultural heritage and building connections with one another.
By incorporating these materials into our classroom, we aim to nurture a sense of belonging, teach empathy, and inspire pride in every child’s identity.
Our classroom is a joyful and dynamic space filled with curious, energetic, and determined pre-K learners. Many of our students come from low-income families and face unique challenges, including language barriers and developmental delays. Despite these hurdles, they bring enthusiasm and creativity to our class each day.
