My students are 5-6-year-olds who come to school every day with smiles on their faces and are eager to learn.
I am a first-year teacher, teaching full-day kindergarten to 23 students. Most of my students are English language learners who come from low-income homes. At our school, 100% of the student population receives free breakfast and lunch. Overall, my students are caring, enjoy hands-on experiences, and enjoy learning new things every day. As their teacher, I enjoy teaching them every single day.
My Project
I am excited to create a maker space area in my classroom. The iron press and tools will give the students an opportunity to make and take art that they have a personal connection to. They will be using their imagination and creativity of Digital Arts and watch it come to life before their very eyes. The students will use the press to manufacture work that will be used for our school, community, and classroom. This opportunity will provide my students with a hands-on approach to manufacturing their own digital art creations. The students will feel a sense of accomplishment through their creativity.
The students will let their imaginations soar in our small group instruction focusing on how to design, create, and manufacture products for themselves and our school.
