This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The material I want for my students is necessary to create "work" in the classroom. This activity uses canvas to create amazing art with knitting threads and colors. Help me give my student canvas, seat sack, paint, and jumbo crayon to improve their behavior by keeping them busy and creative. The goal is to give my students with special disabilities the opportunity to create something easy for them, but at the same time learn that they can create with their hands so that this also becomes part of their lives. I am a teacher in a Self-Contained school and my students are transitioning to adult life. They do work on the school campus and in other classrooms there are those who manage to go to a job or training off campus. In my specific population, my students do not leave campus because their behavior does not allow it. It is for this reason that I need to keep them as busy as possible. so that their behaviors can in turn be controlled.
