Help me give my students exposure to new and creative outlets through crafting hobbies! We host quarterly clubs for 15-20 students once a week to build relationships & increase their exposure to new experiences to broaden their interests.
This project is not currently eligible for funding.
I believe handmade crafting is a need for today's youth. Showing students different and creative outlets to help spark new hobbies and interests.
We host quarterly long activity clubs once a week at school that the students sign up for.
The teachers pick an activity of interest to host and then teach to the students. I have enjoyed introducing them to junk journaling, art collaging, up cycling, beadwork, jewelry making, sewing, etc.
Through this project I would like to introduce the students to different types of artistic expression, like string art, paint marbling, and diamond painting.
Providing the students the tools and supplies needed to create something with their own hands that they can be proud of, and show off to family and friends will help boost their confidence, spark creativity, and teach them things like patience, perseverance, follow through, and dedication. The more hands on activities we can provide the students will help their development, coordination, and bring out their problem solving skills.
