My Students
I work in a quaint school in a part of Virginia where country life meets city life. I believe that regardless of a child's background, they still deserve equal opportunities in my classroom. The students I teach are so full of life and have an unwavering love of learning. They always preserver when lessons may be a challenge to them.
It is admiring to watch and see a five year old come to life when they realize they have learned something.
Their excitement is so contagious over "growing their minds" as I tell them, that it makes me want to do more as an educator.
My Project
My Kindergarten kids LOVE to listen to stories on our carpet throughout the day. They also love to read a variety of books from our classroom library with their friends. However, our classroom library isn't a place they love to be! It lacks a comfy spot to cuddle up and read a book that catches their eye! The couch and two bean bag chairs that I am requesting will make this area of our classroom a place of comfort and enjoyment to explore the world through books! I will also be using the couch and bean bag chairs as an option for flexible seating throughout the day.
