Help me give my students a futon to use as a cozy space to curl up with a book! I will also be using this as a reward, to earn sitting in the futon for the day!

My Students

I am very lucky to have such a great group of kids this year and every year since I have taught at Freeman. Each child in my classroom loves learning and the styles in which they learn vary. I would love to provide another opportunity for my students to work in a setting other than a desk.

We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and have begun to incorporate alternative seating as well to make sure all student's needs are being met.

My Project

Students will not only get to use the futon as a special place to read, they will get to earn sitting in the futon for the whole day and doing their school work on the futon as well. I love giving rewards that are not always candy so this would be great! This futon will be a great addition to my flexible seating I am implementing little by little into my classroom as well. This year I have started to incorporate various flexible seating opportunities for the kids and this would be a great addition and I know the kids would absolutely love it!
