Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our group of fifth graders are extremely special students. They are creative and motivated to do their best each and every day. They are a diverse group of learners, and they have many different needs. Since many of them have learning disabilities, they each have their own way of learning. This does not slow them down because they are quick to point out what they need to succeed.
Our students are happy to come into school each day and are eager to learn new things.
They deserve individual attention and basic supplies that will encourage them to perform their best!
My Project
From the beginning of the school year, we have tried our hardest to create a classroom environment that fosters growth and independence. We hope that each and every student is able to see their potential and test their limits each and every day.
Our students need to be in control of their learning in order to see the progress that they are making.
We are asking for a few extra supplies that will keep our students organized and feel like their classroom is their second home. With limited shelving space in our classroom, some of the books and materials our students need now are shoved away and only taken out for part of the day. The requested ECR4Kids 15-Drawer Mobile Organizer cart will create a space where students know they can go to take out any materials or work that they need throughout the day. It will save time and give our students more access to the education they deserve.
We also want our students to be able to read and learn from any seat in the classroom. So many of our students love to read at our rug area, but it is not easy to fit all of our students on the rug at once. The requested assorted pillows will create an environment that is comfortable for the students so they can learn from various locations around the room. The assorted clipboards will also come in handy when our students are using these pillows because they will need something sturdy to hold their books or complete their work on.
All of these supplies will give our students more independence and further develop a student-centered learning environment in our classroom.
