Hello and thank you for taking the time to consider my proposal. I teach first grade in an inner-city school which is 100% free lunch. The school is in a low income neighborhood.
Reading is important for students of any age. In my classroom, I have a special place for my students to read. I have found that when my students can "get cozy" with a book where ever they would like at the reading center, they get more engaged in their reading. This also helps makes my students very excited about reading. I would like to enhance my reading center with two cozy chairs with an ottoman and with a reading island. The reading island has two comfy chairs on both side and then a book tub in the middle. I can put the books that are in high demand there so that the students can easily find them.
By having these materials, I truly believe my students will continue to love reading more and more. This proposal needs a Reading Island and two chairs with ottomans to be completed. You can be a part of helping a child develop a love for reading by considering this proposal.
