My students need cozy places to sit to thoroughly enjoy reading and help them to build their love of reading---there's nothing better than getting cozy with a good book, and they are ready to experience this!
My students are the most wonderful little human beings. Imagine your first day of Kindergarten...the fear, the excitement, the anticipation. My lovely students have all of those emotions and more! From day one, my students are taught in a foreign language. Instead of a "Good morning" or "Hello", they are greeted with "Buenas Dias" and "Hola"...from day one. Regardless of prior knowledge, my students are in my full day Spanish Immersion Kindergarten class.
They are such eager little learners and constantly amaze me in their capacity for learning.
In the very beginning of the year, the children are quite timid since they are learning in a new language and are in a new environment. Today, they are excitedly speaking in Spanish all. day. long! I know, because their parents tell me that they are constantly speaking in Spanish in the evenings and I hear them during the day.
The children in my school come from all over the city of Philadelphia. We have children from every neighborhood and they each bring their own experiences and background knowledge to the classroom. Our students help to create an incredibly diverse school where everyone is welcome!
My Project
My students are Kindergarteners who are in the throes of learning how to read. Each day, they get to experience new things and watching them learn is an incredible treat for me!

It is so easy to get lost in adventures, visit the world, learn about other cultures, go on a fantastic journey, and learn how to be an empathetic person. Getting cozy on an adjustable recliner or soft seat on the carpet is so engaging and grounding to most children, especially the little ones!
