My Students

I have taught for 22 years and every year I fall in love with the students that enter my classroom. The students that come into my classroom are soccer players, Boy Scouts, Choir kids, NFL dreamers, readers, big sisters, little brothers, dirt bike riders, video game players but most importantly learners.

We learn and work together.

Every year I teach my students and my students teach me. I'm pretty lucky to do something that I love to do every day. My kids go to school in a small, rural area. Our area produces sugar beets, cattle and other crops. Our school community of parents and school staff work hard together to help create healthy, happy kids. I am biased to be sure but our kids are awesome!

My Project

My second grade kids spend lots of time on the floor. We gather together in the morning to share news from home, we read and write together at the easel on the floor, we travel to places outside our classroom walls as we listen to read alouds and we celebrate each other's achievements and successes. A classroom carpet would help make our time together on the floor more enjoyable and cozy.

The kids in my classroom love to lay on the floor to read, write and play math games together.

A classroom carpet will make these learning opportunities more comfortable. I would like our classroom to feel like home.
