This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are hard-working second graders developing their love for reading. I am a first-year teacher with limited resources, looking to give these kiddos a cozy reading corner where they can experience the magic of getting lost in a book.

Becoming enveloped in a fictional story boosts student interest and creativity.

I want to encourage their reading habits by providing a safe space to do this. The other items include mounting putty and an incentive chart. I will use the incentive chart for homework completion. Once a student receives 6 stickers for completing 6 weeks of homework they will get a free book from our classroom library!
