Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a Title One school and most of my students deal with challenging situations in their little lives and homes. We provide free breakfast and lunch as well as clothing and shoes for many of our students. Despite these challenges, my students show up every day eager and ready to learn. They are helpful and very caring toward one another. I love watching their eyes light up when they learn something new.

My Project

My students are delayed in reading due to covid. many students have lost interest in reading. This project will give my students a cozy place and help build a love for reading. this will support their social emotional development as well as academic. Providing a cozy reading nook will give my students a place in the classroom where they feel safe and secure. This will also be a space to foster social skill as students will be sitting and reading together. This nook will be beneficial in many ways for my students.
