My first grade students love to hear stories read aloud and are curious learners who want to read on their own. Having a cozy place to sit on a carpet for read alouds will enhance their enjoyment of reading/listening to stories and provide an extra incentive to sit with their classmates during group work and lessons. First graders need flexible seating to stay engaged in their learning. Sitting in school chairs all day will only cause them to fidget. When students are given the chance to sit on a cozy carpet, they are more focused on their learning and they are able to interact with their classmates and teachers!
