My Project

My classroom is one of my favorite places to be. It has low-lighting, flexible seating, and an overall cozy atmosphere. My students come in here and are able to feel welcome, heard, and comfortable. Despite our best efforts to take care of it, my reading corner futon is finally meeting its last days. With your help, I would love to be able to provide a new seating area for my students.

My students are more excited to read when they have a comfortable place to do so!

They love sitting on the futon. They are able to relax at the beginning of the day when they are still tired, in the middle after morning classes, and at the end before they head home to homework and chores. I love being able to provide that space for them, as they are more likely to open and enjoy a book when they are comfortable and at peace.

By providing this atmosphere for them, I am working to create a classroom of leaders and a culture of readers.
