In our class, we do quiet reading for all students in our daily center rotation. My students will experience growth this year as readers, but the goal is to help them reach goals past where they can imagine.
My class is full of budding readers who enjoy reading new and different books.
I LOVE the fact that they are so anxious to read every single day. Our school is very technology based and I feel that when they get to relax and read a book, it is considered somewhat of a break.
My Project
When we read books, we tend to want to be comfy while doing so. The floor cushions will help my students relax so they can focus on the story at hand. Also, these books include titles that will be unique and even inspirational to them. These books are also aligned with Common Core State Standards, to make sure they are becoming efficient readers.
As a newer teacher, I do not have a lot of personal classroom materials, but I am aware that certain things will help improve the all around learning atmosphere.
I hope to attain these items so they can grow to have a healthy relationship with reading.
