Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are such eager learners! They love learning and work really hard. Some come from homes where English is not the primary language while others have some learning challenges. Despite their challenges, they are engaged in learning and appreciate the learning that occurs in our classroom! I teach second grade ELA (English Language Arts) in a Title 1 school where most of the students receive free lunch. They are full of life and everyday is an adventure with them!
My Project
My students would LOVE to have these rugs in our room not only to have somewhere to sit but also because the rugs show multicultural students and we are a STEM school!
The rugs would bring joy to my students.
My students love to sit on the floor while engaged in a reading lesson. They like to be up front and close to the whiteboard. They also enjoy using the rug during independent reading time or do work on independent work. There are times that I will meet with small groups on the rug if the students prefer to work there with me.
