Cozy New Rug for Pre-K to Gather On

My Students

My school is located in Harlem, New York City. There are four Pre-K rooms at this location. Three Pre-K rooms are General Education. One Pre-K Room is a Special Class Integrated Setting (SCIS). I am the Special Educator of this room requesting items to enhance their learning experiences. My students love to explore nature items, wash the babies in water play, pretend with the dollhouse, build in the block center and/or cook breakfast in the dramatic play area.

My Project

Please help support my Pre-K classroom with a new rug for the students to gather on. While on the carpet together students May read stories, interact together during group games or dance and move during indoor gross motor play due to climate weather. The Pre-K students gather for a morning meeting to welcome in the day.

During a meeting time on the rug we might ask to pass the handshake around the circle, review previous days lesson or introduce something brand new and exciting.

Later in the day, we will use the carpet to read a story. We gather again just before going home to reflect on the happenings and events the day.
