My students all come low-income households and school is their place to interact with others their age. It is also where they get to engage with other adults since most have families where their parents are working almost all day. Our school is small and resources for our students are not easily accessible. But despite that, our preschoolers are always eager to learn and come to school.
We allow them to become who they want to become as they begin their journey to Kindergarten and towards their future.
We teach our children to be independent and put away their own belongings when they arrive to school, after our gross motor time, and throughout the day when they have artwork to take home. By providing our children with new cubbies, we will encourage their self help skills and provide them with more opportunities to become independent.
By providing my children with new cubbies, they will be able to see that I care about their personal belongings just as much as I care about them.
Not only will they store their belongings in clean cubbies, but they will see the additional space in our classroom that will be made possible with these cubbies!
