Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am working with our schools student advocate for 5th and 6th grade. The students we work with have high behavior needs. They are required to do a community service project each year to help them learn what its like to work as a team and give back to the community. Your donation will make that possible. Our goal is for the students to work together while regulated and do something good for their community at the same time. We would like to make blankets for the winter months. Each kid will have the opportunity to customize their fabric by decorating it to their choosing. They will cut their own material, tie it and draw whatever they would like on it. These blankets will then be donated to show appreciation for our teachers.

Our students are often the recipient of community service, doing this project gives them the opportunity to give back and to see the work that goes into serving others.
