My Students

My school is located in an urban area of Wisconsin and has a very diverse population of students. Twenty-five percent of my students are English language learners and fifteen percent receive special education services. Fifty percent of the students at my school are economically disadvantaged.

My students are groups of highly motivated students who love engaging and creative ways to show their learning.

I feel that it is my job to make sure that my students have experiences that are positive and that create opportunities for community building, so that my students have a strong sense of ownership over their own learning as well as that of their classmates and have a sense of belonging to the school community.

My Project

Your donation will contribute to chairs and kick bands for my students. The chairs are comfortable and colorful to provide a safe and cozy environment for my students. The kick bands will be a way for my students who need to move to be able to fidget in a way that doesn't disrupt instruction.

When students are comfortable and have an outlet to safely and discretely use some of their energy, they can be more focused on instruction and engage in the lesson.

The furniture that your donation will fund will provide my students with the opportunity for success that they would otherwise be lacking!
