This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every day, students at school walk into the counseling room carrying stress, anxiety, and personal struggles. This space is their refuge—a place where they can open up, process emotions, and get the support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Right now, our counseling room is functional, but it doesn’t yet feel like the comforting, welcoming space our students deserve.

We want to change that.

With your help, we can create an environment that feels warm, safe, and calming—a place where students feel truly at ease. We are hoping to add: a soft rug to create a cozy, home-like feel, artificial plants to bring a touch of nature indoors, and ambient lighting that makes the space feel calm and inviting

These small touches can make a huge difference. When a student walks into a space that feels warm and cared for, they’re more likely to open up, reflect, and heal.
