My Project

After six years of teaching math, I’m stepping into a brand-new world—teaching ELA! This is my 7th year in the classroom, and while I’m excited to take on this new role, I’m also starting from scratch when it comes to building a classroom library. My goal is to create a space where students feel excited about reading the moment they walk through the door.

This project will help me get books into my students’ hands and create a cozy little reading nook in our room.

I’m asking for some floor cushions so students can get comfy while they read—it’s amazing how much more engaged they are when they have a choice in where and how they learn!

One of the things I’m most excited about is adding a special adjustable desk that will be used as a reward. Students will get the chance to be “Teacher for the Day,” complete with their own fun supplies like pens and markers. It’s such a fun way to recognize their hard work and let them take pride in their classroom.
