My Project
My school is a District 75 Special Education school in Brooklyn, NY serving students with diverse needs. By contributing to this project, you will help create a warm and welcoming environment. The bean bags and carpet will provide a comfortable space for my students to relax and regulate their emotions. Also, this calming corner will support diverse sensory needs, and promote mindfulness, while creating a positive learning environment.
My goals for this project are to establish a calming corner in the classroom where students can go to regroup after a meltdown, and help my students learn self-soothing techniques that will enable them to manage their emotions more effectively.
My students are special because they bring unique perspectives, strengths, and resilience to the classroom. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences foster a rich environment, making our classroom not just a place for academic growth but also for social and emotional development.
