A Cozy Corner for Our Autism Classroom

We're raising funds to create a much-needed "comfy corner" within their learning environment, a dedicated space designed to provide comfort, promote regulation, and enhance focus.

Imagine a space where a child feeling overwhelmed by sensory input can retreat to a soft, fuzzy rug, sinking into a comfortable, supportive seat. For many of our students with autism, the traditional classroom can sometimes be a challenging environment. Sensory sensitivities, communication differences, and the need for predictability mean that a calm, dedicated space can make all the difference in their ability to learn, process information, and engage with their peers.

This comfy corner won't just be a place to relax; it will be a vital tool for their success. It will offer:

* Sensory Regulation: A quiet, tactile space to help students manage sensory input and prevent overstimulation.

* Emotional Support: A safe haven for de-escalation when feelings become big, allowing students to self-regulate and return to learning more quickly.

* Improved Focus: A distraction-reduced area where students can engage in independent work or quiet activities, enhancing their concentration.

* Increased Independence: A designated spot that empowers students to recognize their own needs and seek out comfort strategies.
