This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hi! I have been teaching 5th grade for the past 9 years and have recently switched to 2nd grade. I have been working at FF K-8 Center which is located in the heart of South Beach!
We tend to use the phrase "Miami is the melting pot of the world", where cultures unite as one.
If I had to describe my class that would be a perfect description. Not only is my class a blend of different cultures but a blend of personalities. I have several students with special needs, as well as students who need a little boost to get them caught up.
My Project
My students will be using these bean bag chairs as a part of my cozy computer center. My second grade class has access to laptop computers. Due to the emphasis on computer programs needed to be done in school, I have to set up an additional station of computers.
Unfortunately my students cannot use the laptops at their desk.
Due to the poor WI-FI connection in my school, the students have to use the internet along a wall in my classroom. The reason for this is because the Wi-Fi connection is in the classroom next door. I have a shelf along that wall and the students need a comfy chair to sit in, which is where my bean bag chairs come in. My students will be able to use the bean bag chairs to sit in that area, as well as they would be easy to store in some cubby holes.
