This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten students are full of joy, excitement, and an eagerness for learning. I have so much fun teaching and learning with them. Our school is 92% economically disadvantaged and 79% English Learners. My class is a diverse mix of students, including English Learners, students receiving special education services, gifted and talented students, and students from around the world.
My students have unique personalities, and they're all very sweet and caring toward others.

My Project
Please consider helping me provide a new rug, a couch for 3 students, and 3 floor level seats for our classroom. Flexible seating options allow students choice in their learning space and helps teachers meet students' individual needs. Some students with learning disorders, such as ADHD, have a hard time focusing and sitting still for an entire lesson. These seating options will provide comfort for students to help them meet the increasing academic demands. Additionally, the flexible seating will lend itself perfectly to our collaborative classroom style, which includes centers and group work.
I strive to create a welcoming place for my students to feel at home and to have all their needs met.
My students and I spend almost as much time at school as we do at home. If a student is hungry or tired, they aren't yet ready to learn. The couch and rug will also provide a place for students to take a nap if needed. Thank you in advance for helping me create an ideal kindergarten classroom.
