My students need a classroom carpet and a table to build a classroom community and relationships. This will enable them to communicate better and in a better atmosphere with each other.

My Students
My students are bright and engaged learners. Our county struggles financially to provide ample resources to students but they are very resilient and find alternative solutions to problems due to lack of materials and space. They are always working as a group to come up with solutions to their problems.
The 25 students I have are so amazing and creative!
I have nine boys in my class and 16 girls. They sit very close together right now, as my room does not allow them to have very much personal space.
My Project
Mrs. Coon's class will use our new carpet to build a relationship with each other. Rather than be so far away from each other, we will be able to sit around next to one another and discuss topics and read stories. This will help to develop a better understanding of material and ideas of others.
We will use the table to store materials for class, and to write on as we sit on our new carpet and enjoy a new way to learn with flexible seating; we will develop a new perspective for learning.
This will encourage students to get out of the monotony of sitting at desks and will force them to become engaged in what they are learning. They will have a new found freedom to move about the room.
