My Project

We work to make our classrooms as comfortable and accommodating as possible. Currently we use standard chairs for all tables and centers. Having stools and wobble stools will allow the variety needed to provide any accommodation to kiddos that might need it. I have some kiddos that struggle to sit still. Being able to have a wobble stool to allow them to move without being distracting to others, would be a great support to these students and our classroom environment. We also utilize a donated rug for students to gather on for morning meeting and any whole group carpet work. In kindergarten I have students come to the carpet for most activities and lessons. Having a carpet with a spot for each student to call their own will help support our positive classroom environment.

In addition to the wonderful seating that is on my list, I have added storage shelves.

These shelves will provide students with a space to store their book bins. This is something that our second grade book buddies use and we would like to add to our room. The books that they add will be ones at their level and those that they find interesting. This will be an essential part of our routine as we are currently using book bags that have proven difficult to fit larger books. We often only keep our leveled books in our bags as they are smaller and easier to store.
