This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a special education teacher in an elementary school. I have students with a wide range of disabilities. Oftentimes, these disabilities require that students have unique supports that enable them to fully access the school's curriculum.

My students thrive in settings where they feel comfortable and safe.

The bean bag chair gives them that opportunity. The bean bag will be placed in a section of the classroom that is utilized as a reading nook. This provides the right amount of sensory stimulation. The pencil grips serve as writing aids.
