This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am interested in creating a cozy, calming corner for my classroom. The calming corner is a safe space for students to self-regulate their emotions and feelings.

Having a calming, peaceful, and safe place is essential in the classroom for students.

This space gives students an opportunity to take a moment to do some breathing, a brain break, and refocus.

The canopy and stools will make the corner of the room cozy and inviting. The jelly boards, fidget friends, and other materials will help support students to self-regulate their emotions.
