This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Often my students become dysregulated and need a space to calm down. In our classroom, my goal is to create a corner in which they can use their mental "toolbox", fidget toys, and breathing techniques to join our class once again.

A calming corner with inviting chairs is the perfect designated space to feel undisturbed and have a quiet moment.

With your support, I can provide these soft chairs to my students as a designated place to relax and become ready to learn once again. Having 2 chairs allows a student and an adult to talk things through together.
