This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Covid-19 has affected my students in innumerable ways. My students are special needs and live in a urban area which was impacted in a devastating manner. We have been using distance learning since mid-March with many obstacles including lack of technology, and basics such as crayons,etc.
One area that I need support is in basics such as white board, dry erase markers, chart paper to teach lessons remotely.
My Project
These materials will address issues of needing to print out lessons as well as virtual lessons. My special needs students learn more fully with visuals. The white boards, chart paper, and markers will help make this happen. Copy paper and ink will help me modify lessons for those who do not have technology.
My teaching has to cover students that had technology as well as this that do not.
Our science curriculum covers the Solar System and these science resources will impact my students interest and make a long term memory of the subject matter.
