Covid Virtual Success

Help me give my students coloring supplies, math manipulatives, and a book whilst they work from home.

My Students

Students love to create, read, and write in their own special spots, where they feel comfy and can get lost in their work. During this pandemic, keeping students comfortable while working apart is definitely a challenge. Students are happy when they are relaxed and have time for creative outlets.

My Project

During the Covid pandemic, students color at home as an extra chance to relax and focus during this time of uncertainty. In addition, coloring at home also will help fine motor skills in days when students are not at school. Coloring sheets are specifically selected and are sent home weekly. They act as a form of art therapy that not only allows students to relax and refocus, but also assists with fine motor skills and handwriting. I have also included some math manipulative sets to provide a well needed, helpful resource for virtual math work. Normally, before the Covid pandemic, kids in the classroom had manipulative materials to help them solve math work. At home they do not have access to these materials. Providing these resources will definitely Increase student success in mathematics. In addition, Access to books has also been hard for some students. I have included a book that will also be sent home to each child for them to practice reading skills. Right now, during the pandemic, hybrid students are restricted to desks only. The pillow seats will be used in the classroom by hybrid students to allow space for students to work comfortably around the room at a distance. I believe this will help increase writing and reading stamina.
