Hello everyone, I hope you are all well and safe. This year, all educators are entering uncharted territory. I am very excited to finally see my student's faces again. However, due to the circumstances, I need more individual supplies and tools for my students. As a school social worker, I assist students with their mental and emotional health. It will be even more imperative this year that students are able to access their needed services.
I am hoping to get some more supplies to create individual baggies and tool kits for students.
My students are incredible, and range from grade K to 4. They have a wide range of needs, both emotionally, socially, and academically. Traditionally, I’d have them for both individual and group therapy, however this year it seems like we will be sticking with individual therapy. Many of my students have experienced some form of trauma and greatly benefit from hands-on, somatic approaches in correspondence to their therapy.
Some supplies I am requesting will help with executive functioning skills, emotional regulation, and will enhance the therapeutic process. Thank you so much for your continued support and efforts help support our students in today's circumstances.
My Project
These tools will be used to create individualized bags for students. Due to COVID, we need to separate hands-on items. These items will be used for sensory output, therapeutic release, and creative art opportunities. These items have been selected by my current caseload by a preference assessment of various items they feel are mot helpful to them for regulation and/or sensory breaks.
