My Students
My students are a group of low income students who thrive on doing their best in school. Kindergarten is their first year in school and an important step into their education career. I want to create an environment for them where they can collaborate and learn and grow from one another.
My students are eager learners with a lot of different personalities.
They come to school ready for new tasks and challenges. They love to talk and make new friends. Flexible seating allows them to make new friends everyday. They love learning and enjoy doing group work activities as much as they can.
My Project
As we move forward into the new school year, we are faced with many challenges of how to keep our students safe. As schools resume in person learning, there have been many obstacles we have faced as to how to proceed. The fidget pop-its are good tools for students to have on their desks to use for counting or during brain breaks. Since sharing toys will be hard for this school year, providing students with their own set will help to ensure germs are not transferred in the classroom.
Providing students with a safe environment is our number one concern and taking all necessary precautions will help to ensure schools can reopen for the new school year after a year of distance learning.
The UV light wand will help to clean off germs off supplies without the use of harsh chemicals. This can be done throughout the day to help with sanitizing and cleaning. This will be very useful for sanitizing tablets, pencils, crayons, desk areas, chairs, and computers. Ziplocs will help to keep all student supplies separate and in their individual desk boxes. These can be labeled with students name and number. Teacher Pay Teacher gift cards can be used to buy online supplements that students can complete through the use of Google Classroom to lessen the amount of papers being distributed and touched by multiple people. We will be using a lot of digital files in the classroom. The materials in this project with help all students return back to school safely as we enter another year in this pandemic.
