My Students

My students attend school in an inner city, Title I school district. Our school has had funds reduced every year and this has taken a huge toll on everyone, students and teachers alike. I have purchased a lot of supplies on my own, but I need help with some of the other items that can be beneficial to my students. With the new health guidelines, our classroom is in need of additional supplies to help keep everyone safe.

This year our procedures have changed dramatically.

All the students need their own lanyards to hold their ID cards. The ID cards help us do contract for COVID. If a student needs to use the restroom, we log it. They also need the lanyard to hang outside the restroom so other students know someone is in there. The ID cards are also used to scan barcodes at lunch so students no longer have to touch the lunch checkout machine.

My Project

These materials will help the students be safe at school. We now use lanyards to use the restroom, at lunch to hold masks, again at lunch to scan barcodes, and many other things too. This has sadly become the new normal. All the students need materials to help keep them safe and to do the basic things around school. These lanyards will help students function throughout the day in more ways than you can imagine. Many cannot afford their own lanyard and it is hard to provide so many things this year.
