This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diverse in every way--race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, preferences, and personalities. Each one brings a unique contribution to my classes and never fails to surprise, amaze, and delight me each day. They work together to achieve academic and personal goals.

My students are the stars in my sky.

Every day, they inspire me to be a better teacher and make me smile at their ingenuity, creativity, and unique ways of thinking. In my classroom and beyond, I watch them shine.

My Project

When school reopened in August 2020, 8th-grade students at my school had moved on to high school, and others had not returned to my school. The books in this project were not returned to my school's library because of this situation. Some students were unable to get transportation to my school to return their library books from the 2019-2020 school year.

These books are greatly missed in my school's library collection and are needed.

Students ask for many of them, and I am sad to tell them that they were not returned because of the pandemic.

In the 2020-2021 school year, I was unable to hold in-person book fairs or fundraise money to replace these books because this was not allowed in my school district due to the pandemic. My school was not able to recover funds or make a claim to our disaster insurance policies to repurchase these books that were lost.

Please help replace these lost books in my school's library so other students can read and enjoy them.
