Covid-9, All Hands on Tech!

Help me give my students Chromebooks for students who do not have one at home to complete school work on nontraditional instruction days due to the coronavirus.

My Students

My students walk into my class excited to be there and ready to learn. I teach in a Title I school where a lot of my students qualify for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. Our school has a backpack program for students to take food home on the weekends.

I have a diverse population in my room.

We have special needs students from learning disabled to wheelchair bound students. We have special families made up of children living with parents, grandparents, and foster families and those who are adopted. My students like school and want to be there because they want to learn all they can so that they can be successful one day.

My Project

The coronavirus has made schools shut down and go to nontraditional instruction. We have been told this might very well be for the rest of the school year.

Many of our poorest students do not have the laptops needed to complete online work.

Our local internet providers are giving students free internet during this time, but students need computers to access it. This project would put much needed technology into the hands of students who need it the most. All these students quality for free lunch and desperately need a laptop to complete school work.
