My classroom is comprised of 30+, 10-11 year olds at one time. I teach 3 different math classes which makes it over 90 students a day! My students are hard workers and very competitive. Most have been in school with the same peers since kindergarten so they are up to challenging each other and themselves.
Keeping them engaged is most important so the right materials is pretty handy.
Our teachers and staff make it a priority to create a strong sense of community where the students responsibility, respect, and purpose. It is our goal to prepare each and every one of them to enter any challenge the world may throw at them.
My Project
The students in my classroom are desperate for math centers. Not just any math centers, but math centers that are colorful, interactive, colorful, and constantly updated. Please make their wish come true.
As you are aware there are many different ways to learn.
Hands on is one of the best ways to get the students engaged so why not do it through centers. The colored printer will help me create centers that are appealing to the eye, vibrant, and fun that focuses on basic math skills, project-based activities, games, STEM work, math practice using manipulatives, and interactive journals. My students fall in different levels in math, so I want to make sure everyone is covered and able to participate in the centers created.
I have created many of the centers by hand using bright colors and color coordinating them for visual learners. There are also many different centers that are offered on Teachers Pay Teachers that I have purchased but have only been able to print them in black and white, and that gets kind of dull after awhile. Because of the amount of students I teach on a daily basis, the centers need updating and replacing.
