Countless Chromebooks - Part I

Help me give my students 5 additional Chromebooks to gain the skill to be college and career ready.

My Students

My students in Brooklyn are from diverse backgrounds. They are eager readers and writers of the 21st century. The stories they read and write come alive, not only from written texts but also from media text (e.g., social media and the like). Our school uses the Mood Meter based on R.U.L.E.R. component from Yale University that helps us enhance our learning in the classroom by focusing on social-emotional learning.

In our school, our population focus is on English language learners and students with disabilities and because of this, we put our students' character first which then joins hands with our content that we teach.

When we put our students' emotions first, we build trust, empathy, and loyalty within our community of learners.

Our readers and writers are our leaders of tomorrow. They are our convincers of the present and our future. Our students use their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills to build a better future for themselves, their families and their local communities.

My Project

The 5 additional Chromebooks would allow my students to get the "technology boost" they really need to be college and career ready. Our students really need assistive technology and they truly thrive on technology.

The internet can open students' worlds up to the safe possibilities of the Internet, connecting academic learning to social-emotional learning.

In attaining the Chromebooks, we are able to apply our cyber safety knowledge and really learn how to read, write, listen and speak. Our students, both English learners and students with disabilities, need this assistive technology to affirm their strengths.

Our students can use laptops to conduct research for essays and also learn how to cite sources. Both skills are essential in becoming college and career ready as part of our College Access for All initiative.
