My Students
My students come from varied backgrounds and beginning education levels. These kids come to school knowing that they are cared about and are going to learn something new.
The students are willing and eager to learn each day.
We are a Title 1 school with 66% of our students receiving free or reduced lunches and 40% as ELL students. We are always excited to give them a jump start on their education and your support and donations mean so much.
My Project
Math is in our everyday lives, it is something that as adults we understand by sight. We want to give the students extra resources to learn counting and different units of measurement.
Units of measurement are crucial in developing an understanding of how the world around us works.
The counters will give a visual representation of different units and the trays will help them sort out, count, and pattern items together to build groups of different items in order to make sense. When we have an understanding of units, it flows into our daily lives to help with things like: money, shopping, and cooking measurements.
Lets give our newest learners all the advantages we can!
