My Students

In a world where math and science are the doors to success and opportunity in both school and careers of the future. Students must need to know functions such as square roots, how to convert decimals to fractions, and be able to do these things quickly.

We are an urban k-8 title I school.

But we do not receive our title I funding. Despite this, our test scores in both math and science have been above the district and state averages. Unfortunately all of my classroom set of calculators have either been broken or disappeared over the last three years.

My Project

In both math and science I teach students ranging from special ed to gifted and talented. Regardless of their intelligence level they all need equal access to technology. Every experiment we do has a data table and a graph. This donation would be used daily by more than 100 students.

These calculators should last 3-5 years and benefit 300-500 students.

This is a small investment that will reap large returns. Research shows that competence in math and science is directly correlated to increased earnings and higher level education throughout adulthood.
