This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love that my students bring two languages and two cultures into the classroom every single day. In our dual immersion setting, they are constantly making connections between English and Spanish, building not only academic skills but also cultural pride and empathy. I am inspired by the way they help one another, celebrate each other’s progress, and embrace challenges as opportunities to grow.

Counting collection items like mini toys, figurines and erasers will benefit my 5th graders by strengthening their number sense, place value understanding, and ability to think flexibly about numbers.

Counting collections items help to build both confidence and fluency, laying a strong foundation for success in more complex mathematical concepts.
