My preschoolers are an amazing group of learners! It is a joy to see them enter with smiling faces. 4-5 year olds are so eager to learn, making me committed to providing the best developmentally appropriate experiences for my students.
We are located in a rural, low income, high poverty area where educational experiences are limited.
We are a Pre-K to fifth grade Title I school. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
I work with an enthusiastic group of preschoolers who love learning, but not all of my students are provided with materials for exploration at home so having the materials and manipulatives in the classroom allows the children to explore new techniques.
My Project
These new math items will allow my students to explore various basic math skills that are needed for our preschoolers to succeed. Sorting, counting, graphing, and patterning are math skills that are introduced in Pre-K.
The Early Graphing Flipboard will introduce data collection along with counting and graphing.
The students love to see their answers on the visual graph and to count the favorite choice of the class.
Let's Go Fishing Math Center will "reel in" tons of essential skills for my students. This center focuses on counting out quantities, sorting by color and shape, and patterning all while playing a game.
