My students are in a self-contained Special Education class. Instead of saying they have different types of disabilities, I prefer to say they have different abilities. Some are good at reading. Some are good at math. Most of the boys love Science. I teach all subjects to my class. They stay with me all day except for PE, Art and Music. This year's class is special. We have a good time and their behavior deserves to be rewarded. They have learned so much because we can spend time on content, not discipline.
The class is made up of two girls and 9 boys.
They are a mix of 4th and 5th grade. They will make you laugh. Not a day goes by, that me and my assistant don't crack up at this bunch!
This cash register will serve as hands on learning for my students. Students will be able to take turns being the customer and cashier with our "classroom store". This will make learning easier. This will teach them a valuable life skill in a fun way.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
