This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Financial Literacy is a must skill for everyone. My students come from low income homes that do not teach financial responsibility. Their lives are hard as they have to move around repeatedly in search of more affordable housing because the parents misuse the little money they have. They often times miss school because of car issues due to the irresponsibility of some parents. My students are amazing children who love to come to school and learn. I want to make learning fun for them by giving them play money, teaching them how to count it, and teach them the skill of saving money.

Help me teach my students financial responsibility through a the use of a classroom store.

It is my intention to use this store to teach my students how to count money and save their money in order to buy items from the store. This will instill a financial responsibility for them at n early age. Saving money is an acquired skill that will help my children become responsible spenders.
